SGS has undertaken an independent assessment of the NSW Government’s plan to sell all 293 social housing properties in Millers Point and The Rocks.
In this report, we:
identify an alternative way forward, which aims to recognise the value of achieving social mix and sustainability, mitigate the costs of the proposed approach, and realise the most benefits for NSW society
consider the context of housing, inequality and social mix at a metropolitan level
assess the likely costs and benefits of the proposed approach by NSW Government against a base case of continuing the status quo.
