| Summary, etc. | This study arose out of a concern to document the experience of residents of special retirement accommodation. Member organisations of the Aged Care Coalition, - the Australian Consumers' Association, the Combined Pensioners' Association, the NSW Council of Social Service, Redfern Legal Centre and the Social Welfare Action Group, - had all received approaches from residents seeking assistance to change aspects of life which they found distressing. <br/>This study documents the experiences of 60 residents of retirement accommodation, 20 each from boarding houses, hostels and independent units. These experiences provide a valuable and unique insight by exploring the feelings and beliefs of residents and by providing residents with the opportunity t o speak for themselves. |
