This article considers the role of the NSW Housing Commission (HC) in Aboriginal housing. It is based on research conducted in the tenancy files, specifically those relating to Aboriginal applicants and tenants from the 1970s. It will explores the forms of moral surveillance which they experienced, and the class and gender as well as colonial aspects of that surveillance.
