N2  - This report presents the major findings of the 1998 Marrickville Boarding House Survey. The focus of the Survey was on the situation on and for residents, for owner/managers and the condition of the stock. The purpose of the study was to:
* provide primary data to be utilised in addressing the options/recommendations outlined in the Marrickville Council Housing Needs Study.
* Report to council on local boarding house industry issues and make recommendations for action.

Marrickville Council's Housing Needs Study provided the impetus for this study. It has found that boarding house residents are a group with unmet housing needs and recommended that a Survey be undertaken to better understand the state of the local boarding house industry.
