520 _aThis report analyses the findings of a survey by the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission (the Commission) on the experiences of people seeking accommodation in the private rental market in Victoria. The purpose of the survey was to gather current information and a stronger evidence base on an issue that was being consistently raised by community stakeholders, that some people are denied access to private rental accommodation based on personal characteristics that are protected under the Equal Opportunity Act 2010, including race, sex, age, disability or being a parent.
