520 | _aAustralia is going through a cost-of-living crisis, where private rentals and the cost of essentials have risen sharply since 2021. Anglicare’s Food & Financial Assistance (FFA) service has been at the frontline of agencies providing emergency relief to vulnerable and disadvantaged Australians experiencing the brunt of the crisis. This report, which is based on interviews carried out among 27 FFA clients, details how the cost-of-living crisis has impacted their households and the ways in which they cope. The report calls on Government to increase social housing provision, to raise the level of the JobSeeker payment, and to support agencies to address need, particularly increasing levels of food insecurity. | ||
